The journey of Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura Little Tennis Champions scholars engaged in the first event of the new season in the J60 San Marino has come to an end. Positive balance overall for the I Tennis Foundation team, in a stage like this also important to accumulate matches in the pockets and experience.
Notable performances were those of Mattia Cappellari, who went all the way to the quarterfinals after bringing home among others a first-round match conditioned by cramps, and Martina Cerbo, who also stopped in the quarters after a clear path that started from the qualifiers.
An early end to the tournaments of Alessandra Fiorillo and Matteo Gribaldo, respectively in the first round against Gabriela Paun and in the second round with No. 1 seed Michele Mecarelli, both of whom were then singles tournament finalists.
Good as well were the tournaments of Carlo Paci and Francesca Galli, who succumbed to better-ranked opponents, and of this season’s two new-entries Van Son Didoni and Giorgia Buccinotti, with the latter scoring her first ITF-level victory on her debut in the doubles tournament paired with Galli herself.
The season now moves on to Turin, with a week of briefings and training from July 15-21 at the Circolo della Stampa Sporting under the orders of the full staff and supercoaches of I Tennis Foundation and where, at the same time, the start of the 2024-2025 season for the Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura LTC project will be officially announced by press on Wednesday, July 17 at 11 a.m.
