Turin, 25 May 2026 – Applications are now officially open for Romanian children for Little Tennis Champions 2026–27, the charitable scholarship programme run by the I Tennis Foundation in collaboration with its partners for children born in 2011 and 2012.
The beneficiaries will be two girls born in 2011 or 2012 and of Romanian nationality, selected on the basis of their tennis potential and their family’s financial circumstances.
Where applicants are of equal talent, preference will be given to candidates from families with fewer resources who have no other assistance or support for their tennis careers.
The two girls will be chosen and selected on the basis of these criteria and included in an annual tennis development scholarship programme comprising a programme of improvement in the technical-tactical, athletic and mental aspects of the game.
There will be two types of scholarship:
1 full annual scholarship, renewable for subsequent years, covering full board accommodation, training, transport and support at 20 international ITF tournaments
1 reduced annual scholarship, renewable for subsequent years, covering full board accommodation and support for 3 weekly training camps, transport, and support at 6 international ITF tournaments
The special training sessions for each pillar will be led by a top coach working alongside the rest of the technical staff: Gipo Arbino, Ivan Ljubicic, Emilio Sanchez, Simone Tartarini and Omar Camporese for the technical and tactical aspects, Damiano Fiorucci for the athletic side, and Manuela Caputi for the mental aspect.
The programme will include courses in English and Italian, sports communication, ‘Learning by the Champions’, and education on smartphone and new technology use.
The plan for each selected young person is shared with their families and the clubs where the scholarship holder is registered.
The scholarship programme runs for one year and, at the end of this period, subject to the available budget, I Tennis Foundation will consider renewal.
