ITF U18 tournaments in Barcelona, Palermo, and Pescara: 4 more international titles for I Tennis Foundation talents!

Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura Little Tennis Champions keeps reaping success on international tennis courts. After an intense and fruitful summer activity and the break dedicated to the U15 Absolute Italian Championships, the young talents supported by the I Tennis Foundation were back on the court with excellent results.

The international schedule restarted first from Spain, where four of the scholarship holders Mattia Cappellari, Francesca Galli, Matteo Gribaldo, and Alessandra Fiorillo, selected among the most deserving in the program, were awarded with the opportunity to take part in the U18 ITF J100 tournament in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona), at the prestigious Academy of our supercoach Emilio Sanchez. A high-level tournament in which Mattia Cappellari and Matteo Gribaldo distinguished themselves with the semifinal reached in the men’s doubles.

This experience undoubtedly offered our young tennis players the opportunity to face high-level opponents and to accumulate valuable experience in their baggage.

Back to Italy, the Little Tennis Champions confirmed what had been seen in the summer with four more titles and two finals in just two weeks: this is the extraordinary haul conquered by our young talents!

In Palermo, in the prestigious U18 ITF J100 Trofeo Antonino Mercadante ” tournament at the Circolo del Tennis di Palermo, reserved for four scholars awarded by Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura, in the men’s category the great protagonist was undoubtedly Matteo Gribaldo who, after a splendid week, reached the final in the singles tournament, in which he had to surrender to Latvian Arturs Zagars, triumphing in the doubles tournament with partner Lorenzo Balducci. Martina Cerbo and Alessandra Fiorillo, respectively Italian U15 doubles champion and reigning Italian U15 team champion, then completed the double for I Tennis Foundation, emerging victorious in the women’s doubles draw. It was also a good tournament for Carlo Paci , who, paired with Marco Meacci, hit the semifinals of the men’s doubles.

The following week, it was then the turn of the ITF J60 in Pescara, where Cerbo and Fiorillo repeated their success of Palermo, confirming that they are a more than proven duo, as well as Matteo Gribaldo, although changing partners, this time Niccolò Satta, conquered his second consecutive title in doubles, overcoming in the final his teammates Mattia Cappellari and Carlo Paci in a special “family” match for I Tennis Foundation to close fourteen days of framing that represent the confirmation that the path traced is the right one.

The young talents of Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura LTC will now gather in full in Cuneo on Nov. 7 for the Dialoghi sul talento event with guests Andre Agassi and Steffi Graforganized by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio Cuneo in collaboration with I Tennis Foundation, which will be followed by special training sessions in Turin under the orders of the full staff and Ivan Ljubicic during the Nitto ATP Finals.
